Being acclaimed as the land of lotus all along, Macao represents a blend of Oriental and Western cultures, a fusion of traditional and modern elements, as well as successful practice of "One Country, Two Systems". Since its return to the motherland, Macao has achieved the best ever development in history, and has written an extraordinary chapter in the successful practice of "One Country, Two Systems" with Macao features.

Established on the same day as the MSAR according to Article 13 of the Macao Basic Law, the Commissioner's Office grows up together with the MSAR, and witnesses its thriving development. With the support from all walks of life in the MSAR, the Commissioner's Office has been fully and faithfully implemented the policies of "One Country, Two Systems", "the people of Macao governing Macao" and a high degree of autonomy for the region, uphold and acted in strict accordance with the Constitution and Macao Basic Law, resolutely safeguarded China's sovereignty, security and development interests, created a favorable development environment for the cause of "One Country, Two Systems" in Macao by observing the purpose of "diplomacy for the people" and delivering concrete and quality services to Macao citizens.

At present, China has unveiled its 14th Five-Year Plan and embarked on a new journey of building a modern socialist country in an all-round way. Shouldering a more glorious mission and weighty responsibility in implementing major-country diplomacy with distinctive Chinese features, the Commissioner's Office will firmly grasp the opportunities, take up its responsibilities, break new ground in Macao-related diplomacy and achieve further progress.

We will firmly guard against foreign interference in Macao affairs, maintain the hard-earned positive developments in Macao, and resolutely safeguard Macao's enduring prosperity and stability.

We will take full advantage of our diplomatic resources to support Macao's external exchanges and cooperation on all fronts, and to facilitate Macao's pursuit to build "one center, one platform and one base".

We will actively promote Macao-related foreign affairs on treaty and law including the application of international conventions in Macao, and enhance Macao's international influence.

We will always fulfill the purpose of "diplomacy for the people" by providing quality consular service and enhancing passport power, to make Macao residents' overseas travel comfortable, safe and relaxed.

We will continuously share the story of Macao's successful implementation of the "One country, Two systems" policy with the world, hold various contests and activities to deepen national and patriotism education in Macao such as "Young Diplomats on Campus" and "International Law Lectures on Campus", as well as enhance Macao youth's ability in international communication and exchanges.
