On September 18, Commissioner Shen Beili met with the outgoing Consul General of Greece in Hong Kong, Mr. Ioannis Maloukos at the Commissioner's Office.
Commissioner Shen spoke highly of China's relations with Greece as well as the cooperation and exchanges between Macao SAR and Greece.
She said that Greece is a good friend and good partner of China in Europe. She hoped that two sides could seize the historical opportunity of building "Belt and Road" and continue to strengthen pragmatic cooperation in various fields, such as business, people-to-people links and tourism, etc. She also wished that Mr. Ioannis Maloukos would continue supporting exchanges between Macao and Greece after leaving his post.
Mr. Ioannis Maloukos agreed with Commissioner Shen's comments on the Greece-China relations. He thanked the Commissioner's Office for assisting his job during his term of office. He said that he was so glad to witness the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership relations between Greece and China and the successful practice of "one country, two systems" in Hong Kong and Macao. He said that he would continue to follow up on Macao and make continuous efforts to promote exchanges and cooperation between Greece and Macao in the future.
