Q: The US State Department released the 2020 Trafficking in Persons Report on June 25, placing the Macao on its Tier 2 Watch List. What is your comment?
A: Over the past 20 years since its return to the motherland, Macao has achieved significant progress in its practice of "one country, two systems" .The SAR government has taken forceful measures to combat against all kinds of illegal acts, including human trafficking, maintaining long-term social prosperity and stability, making Macao one of the safest regions in the world. With disregard of facts and groundless accusations, the US blatantly interfered by this report, in the internal affairs of the Macao SAR of China. We deplore that and urge the US side to respect objective facts, discard political bias, stop publishing such reports and stop interfering in Macao affairs and China's internal affairs in any form.
