Acting Comissioner Wang Dong Meets with Consuls General of Angola and Mozambique in the Macao SAR

On 27 January 2020, Acting Commissioner Wang Dong met with Consul General of Angola in the Macao SAR Mr. Eduardo Velasco Galiano and Consul General of Mozambique in the Macao SAR Mr. Rafael Custódio Marques.

Acting Commissioner Wang briefed on the outcome of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Special Address of President Xi Jinping at the World Economic Forum of the Davos Agenda, and State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s recent visit to five African countries. Acting Commissioner Wang said that the cooperation between the Chinese and African people in the fight against pandemic reflects China-Africa’s profound relationship. The friendly exchanges of Angola and Mozambique with Macao are facing new opportunities in the wake of Macao’s deep integration into China’s development as a whole, with the focus on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Wang expressed the hope that the Consuls General could introduce Macao’s strengths to their countries more often and continue to deepen the practical cooperation with Macao.

The Consuls General spoke highly of their own country’s bilateral relations with China and extended gratitude for China’s longterm support for the development of Angola and Mozambique. They also thanked China for dispatching medical groups and giving materials and aids to fight against pandemic. They were ready to further promote respective country’s exchanges and cooperation with Macao and the Greater Bay Area in the new era.
