The First Biometric Visa Issued by the Commissioner’s Office

On November 4th, 2021, Mr. Liu Xianfa, Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in the Macao SAR, issued the first biometric visa to a Macao foreign resident.

Commissioner Liu said that in accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations, and with reference to international practice, the Commissioner's Office has launched biometric visa from November 1st, 2021. He congratulated the applicant for receiving the first biometric visa issued by the Office, wished him everything goes well with his work and a smooth journey to the mainland of China, encouraged him to make positive contributions to promoting cooperation and exchanges between the two countries. Mr. Liu also reminded the applicant to take necessary preventive measures for Covid-19 when entering into the mainland of China.

The applicant expressed his honor to have obtained the first biometric visa issued by the Commissioner’s Office. He said that he and his family have been living in the Macao SAR for many years. They are very fond of China and often travel to the mainland of China. His children are all learning Chinese language very hard now. It is his sincere hope that the pandemic could be under control as quick as possible, so that he could contribute more to the exchanges and cooperation between his native country and China, especially with the Macao SAR in the future.

The Commissioner’s Office will continue to provide sound visa services to foreigners in Macao to travel to the mainland of China.
