The Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macao will implement Visa Facilitation Measures for Foreigners in the Macao SAR to Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin

On August 30th, the “Macao Urban Transformation and Development Dialogue” co-hosted by the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macao and the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region was successfully held both online and offline in Macao.

Commissioner Liu Xianfa announced at the Dialogue that in order to meet the requirements in the General Plan for Development of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin (hereinafter referred to as “Cooperation Zone”), support the development of the Cooperation Zone, promote the long-term prosperity and stability of the Macao SAR and integrate Macao into overall national development, with the approval of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macao will provide a visa facilitation policy for foreigners in Macao to visit the Cooperation Zone. The policy will take effect on September 1st, 2022. It includes the following facilitation measures:

Permanent Foreign Residents can apply for a 5-year multiple-entry visa;

Non-permanent Foreign Residents can apply for a multiple-entry visa with the same validity period as the resident ID card;

Foreign Non-resident Workers (specialized workers Only) can apply for a 1-year multiple-entry visa;

Foreigners who stay in Macao temporarily with a plan to attend conventions or exhibitions in the Cooperation Zone can apply for a 3-month multiple-entry visa.
