On August 14, 2025, Commissioner Liu Xianfa met with Bindeswar Prasad Lekhak, Consul General of Nepal in Hong Kong.

Commissioner Liu said that over the past 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Nepal, no matter how the international and regional situations change, the two countries have always respected each other, treated each other as equals, and engaged in mutually beneficial cooperation. The Macao SAR has achieved an enormous success in advancing the cause of “One Country, Two Systems” with distinctive Macao features, over the past 25 years after its return to the motherland,. There is great potential for cooperation between Macao and Nepal. It’s believed that the Consulate General will play an active role in promoting practical cooperation between the Macao SAR and Nepal. The Commissioner's office is ready to offer active support.

Mr. Lekhak said that China is a trustworthy neighbor and development partner of Nepal. The Nepali side values the cooperation with Macao and it is willing to enhance the communication with the government of the Macao SAR, so as to promote people-to people exchanges between the two sides and mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas.
