On May 28, Commissioner Bian Lixin met with U.S. Consul General in Hong Kong Julie Eadeh at the latter's request.
Commissioner Bian expounded on the important common understandings reached by the two presidents in Beijing. She urged the Consulate General to make constructive contributions to friendship between the peoples of China and the U.S., play a positive role in maintaining prosperity and stability in Macao SAR, and do more practical work to promote win-win cooperation between Macao SAR and the U.S.. Commissioner Bian called on the U.S. side to recognize the facts, put itself in a right position and correct the wrong practice, stop attacking and smearing Macao SAR and stop interfering in Macao's affairs.
Consul General Eadeh expressed willingness of playing a constructive role in promoting exchanges and cooperation between the U.S. and Macao SAR in accordance with the important common understandings reached by the two presidents.
