On July 25, 2025, Commissioner Liu Xianfa met with Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, Consul General of Pakistan in Hong Kong.

Commissioner Liu said that China and Pakistan are ironclad friends and all-weather strategic cooperative partners. Over the past 25 years after its return to the motherland, the Macao SAR has achieved an enormous success in advancing the cause of “One Country, Two Systems” with distinctive Macao features. There is great potential for cooperation between Macao and Pakistan. It's believed that the Consulate General will play an active role in promoting practical cooperation between the Macao SAR and Pakistan. The Commissioner's office is ready to offer active support.

Consul General Shaikh said that Pakistan and China share solid friendship and close cooperation. The Pakistani side values the cooperation with Macao and it is ready to enhance the communication with the government of the Macao SAR, so as to promote people-to people exchanges between the two sides and mutually beneficial cooperation in economy, trade, investment, education and other areas.
