On August 26, 2025, Commissioner Liu Xianfa met with Mazin Alhimali, Consul General of Saudi Arabia in Hong Kong.

Commissioner Liu said that in recent years, China-Saudi Arabia relations have witnessed comprehensive, rapid and in-depth development. Cooperation in various fields has yielded fruitful results. Over the past 25 years after its return to the motherland, the Macao SAR has achieved an enormous success in advancing the cause of “One Country, Two Systems” with distinctive Macao features. There is great potential for cooperation between Macao and Saudi Arabia. It's believed that the Consulate General will play an active role in promoting practical cooperation between the Macao SAR and Saudi Arabia. The Commissioner's office is ready to offer necessary support and assistance.

Mr. Mazin Alhimali said that Saudi Arabia attaches great importance to developing the comprehensive strategic partnership with China, and the two countries have broad prospects for cooperation in various fields. Saudi Arabia is willing to enhance communication and exchanges with the Macao SAR government to promote more achievements in mutually beneficial cooperation.
