On October 10, Commissioner Liu Xianfa received a courtesy call from new U.S. Consul General in Hong Kong, Ms. Julie Eadeh.

Commissioner Liu urged the U.S. side to stop attacking and smearing Macao with the so-called annual reports, not to undermine Macao’s security and stability, and not to hinder Macao’s prosperity and development. He hoped to see Ms. Julie Eadeh act in ways conducive to the exchanges and cooperation between Macao and the U.S., and play constructive part in the steady, sound and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations.

Ms. Julie Eadeh said that the engagement and cooperation with Macao in trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges are important to the U.S., in which she would play an active role.
