On February 10, the newly appointed Commissioner Bian Lixin of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao Special Administrative Region, paid a courtesy call on Former Chief Executive, Mr. Chui Sai On.

Commissioner Bian Lixin appreciated Mr. Chui Sai On for his long-term support for the work of the Commissioner’s Office. She said that the Commissioner’s Office, based on its duties and functions, will firmly build a solid barrier for safeguarding national security, actively support Macao’s role as “One Centre, One Platform, and One Base” , so as to create a sound external environment for Macao to achieve a higher level of development.

Mr. Chui Sai On welcomed Commissioner Bian Lixin to assume office and spoke highly of the important role the Commissioner’s Office has played in promoting Macao’s external exchanges and enhancing its international influence. He hoped that the Office would build on past achievements and make new progress in the future, making new contributions to advancing the great cause of “one country, two systems”.
