On March 30, Commissioner Bian Lixin met with a delegation led by Teresa Cheng Yeuk-wah, Secretary-General of the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed), during their visit to Macao.

Bian congratulated Cheng on her appointment as the first Secretary-General of the IOMed and said that China, as the first initiating country and host of the IOMed, will continue to actively support its work and welcome more countries to join at an early date. She also expressed the hope that the IOMed will leverage Macao’s unique advantages to facilitate its development and play a positive role in the peaceful resolution of international disputes.
Cheng thanked China for its strong support for the IOMed. She expressed readiness to enhance cooperation with China and, through Macao's platforms of international exchanges, raise the profile of the IOMed and expand its circle of friends.
