On April 15, Commissioner Bian Lixin met with Duan Yihong, Secretary of the ESCAP/WMO Typhoon Committee.

Bian spoke positively of the Typhoon Committee's efforts in promoting global governance in meteorology and disaster prevention and mitigation, as well as enhancing cooperation with China. As the host country, China will continue to actively support the work of the Typhoon Committee. Bian expressed the hope that the Committee would leverage its professional strengths to help improve Macao's meteorological research as well as its disaster prevention and response capabilities.

Duan thanked China for its strong support to the Typhoon Committee and expressed readiness to deepen practical cooperation between the Typhoon Committee and the Macao SAR.
