On July 22, Commissioner Bian Lixin met with Dr. Shah Mohammad Tanvir Monsur, Consul General of Bangladesh in Hong Kong.
Bian said that during President Xi Jinping’s meeting with Bangladesh's Prime Minister Tarique in Beijing in June, the two leaders jointly announced the building of a China-Bangladesh community with a shared future in the new era, charting the course for practical bilateral cooperation. She expressed the hope that the Consul General would seize the opportunities brought by the launch of the 15th Five-Year Plan and leverage Macao’s development dividends to deliver more concrete outcomes from exchanges and cooperation between Macao and Bangladesh.
Monsur said that Bangladesh firmly adheres to the one-China principle and fully supports the policy of “one country, two systems”. Bangladesh welcomes Macao’s role as a hub for cultural exchanges between China and other countries. The Consulate General stands ready to work with the Commissioner’s Office to further facilitate personnel exchanges and expand cooperation in all areas between Bangladesh and Macao.
