On August 7, Commissioner Bian Lixin met with Mazin Alhimali, Consul General of Saudi Arabia in Hong Kong.

Bian said that Macao is currently ramping up efforts to advance appropriately‑diversified economy and comprehensively deepen Hengqin-Macao integrated development, which is highly aligned with the goals of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The two sides enjoy broad prospects for cooperation in tourism, conventions and exhibitions, cultural exchanges, etc. She expressed the hope that the Consulate General would seize the opportunities presented by the development of the Guangdong‑Hong Kong‑Macao Greater Bay Area and the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and actively advance new progress in practical cooperation between Macao and Saudi Arabia.

Mazin Alhimali expressed gratitude to the Commissioner’s Office for its long‑term strong support and assistance to the work of the Consulate General. He noted that the Saudi side attaches great importance to expanding cooperation with Macao under the framework of the China‑Saudi Arabia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the “one country, two systems” principle. Saudi Arabia stands ready to further strengthen communication and exchanges with the Macao SAR Government and the Commissioner’s office, so as to elevate mutually‑beneficial cooperation between the two sides to a new height.
